I wanted to do a holiday picture, and instead I came up with this. XD The last picture I sketched in 2008, and the first picture I colored for 2009. ^^ Happy New Year!

'Tis the first of my character redesigns for my fanfiction, Pokemon Colosseum: The Longest Night. If you haven't read it yet, check out the prologue here: [link] Basically, it's Pokemon Colosseum, but with vampires and killer Shadow Pokemon. Please check it out if you are interested. ^^

Here's Silva, the radically redesigned kid from the original game. If you don't recall who Silva is, he was that kid in Pokemon Colosseum who tried to single-handedly stop Cipher. However, it often fell to the hero, Wes, to rescue or aid Silva. In my new story, Silva can now be the hero he always wanted to be. ^^

Because Silva will be seeing a lot of action in my story (which involves serious vampire slaying, which requires significantly more strength than a kid would have) I made him several years older; now he's 17. In redesigning him, my goal was to make him a sort of "deputy" character, with a cowboy-inspired sort of outfit. He also gets an awesome modernized flintlock pistol (which really doesn't exist, by the way; flintlocks are old technology now. XD) and a combat knife to fight with. His pistol was dubbed the "Masterson" as a tribute to one of my favorite western cowboys, Bat Masterson from the movie "Tombstone".

I do hope you all like this~ I haven't seen fanart of Silva anywhere, so it's nice to give him some more attention, especially since he's going to play an important role in my fanfic. This was also an exercise for me in anatomy and coloring. I tried something different with the coloring, though I don't think anyone can tell due to my scanner anyway. x3
